I called around several places looking for a quote on a CAT code being thrown by my check engine light. I had quotes all over the board from repair shops all over Springfield. I decided to give A-1 a shot because they seemed to shoot me straight for all the questions I had. I ended up getting an oil change, which was the standard going rate compared to everywhere else in Springfield. I also had them change out my rear brake pads and rotors. I was hoping to keep my rotors and have them turned down but they advised against it, which I understand. The brake job seemed a smidge high but I didn't want to run my truck to multiple places. And they offer a 3-year/36K mile warranty. Kevin was super friendly and they fellas were able to get all my repairs done in the same day! Truck is running great! I'll be using these guys for a tune-up on my truck in the near future. I'll also be bringing back my wife's Explorer for a 60K mile service, too. Highly recommend these guys.
I have been taking my vehicles to A-1 Custom Car Care for a decade from simple oil changes to major repairs. They have never disappointed me in quality customer service and fixing my cars the right way the first time with honest feedback about the cost of the repairs and what my options are. Yes, there are cheaper auto repair shops but the peace of mind I receive after taking my vehicles to A-1 is well worth the difference.
I'm sure they do good work. They just weren't able to help me. The only alternatives he could give, he wasn't sure were even legal. And then went on a rant about it being "these environmental weirdos" fault. It was at that point I couldn't leave soon enough.
We had to take in our car on a Friday because the brakes were going out. They said it was unlikely that they would be able to get to it that day, so we fully expected it to be a least Monday before we heard from them. They ended up with some time and got it done and back to us that evening. They are always so great to work with.
Took my car in to have it diagnosed. They did a super thorough inspection with pictures and descriptions. I was very impressed. Ended up being a head gasket issue so I opted out of fixing it. However, if I do need repairs in the future, this is where I’m going. 10/10.
It cost way to much for what was done. Almost $300 to replace battery terminals! Then when I got it home lights on the dash were on that had never been on before. After taking it back and asking about these lights I was informed they could look at it again the next day but I would have to pay again for them to do that. I will never use this company again
First time going to A-1 Custom Car Care. I have a 2003 Hyundai Santa-Fe. I’d taken it to a couple shops before finding these guys. I was needing a new catalytic converter. When it was brought in for A-1 to fix it. David was the gentleman that helped us. Once they did a once over David called and gave me about 4 options to go with. He told me that the two shops I had taken it to neither one did the job they were supposed to do. He apologized for the two shops and how they did a sloppy job and did not do what they said they would do. Unlike some shops who give you one option and that option is so expensive. But not these guys. David walked us through the whole process of what needed to be done.
Needless to say I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND A-1
